Fuel filter screen.Holy crap!

Taking the tank apart on my track only SS for paint after a crash.I pulled the pump and filter out to see this.Doesn't quite look right does it?

Flip it over to find this.Yikes!!!!! I think i'm going to put some heat sheilding on the bottom of the tank to protect "the boys".

I hope the marshalls at the tracks you visit have their fire extinguishers regularly checked!

Any mods to the engine as such? Trying to work out why its running so hot...

At least all the petrol is stopping it from catching fire.

Install FCR's and you can scrap the pump and put the filter outside the tank.

Ok...i think i figured this out. There is NO way that the screen could be damaged like that while immersed in fuel in the tank.(that motor runs on 112oct btw) I'm positive the previous owner had a leaky tank and welded it without removing the pump.Sure gave me a moment tho.
