Reversible nakedness for a carby 900ss
I've decided that I like my 900ss without the fairing. I'd like to convert it to a 'naked' bike in a reversible way, so that I can return it to stock form in the future. Obviously this isn't a trivial task with all of the wiring up front. Wondering if anyone has gone down this path and could share some advice.

Possibly fit a Monster headlight & go from there? Just need somewhere to fit all the wiring, should pop in the back of the headlight?

I like that idea - will have to see what could be hidden in there. Maybe some stuff could be routed back to the battery area where there is some room.

Hiya
I am doing a 750ss cafe racer (see thread)
It's likely I will fit a monster loom with the headlight and bracket
Not got there yet, just working out how it can be done
Just about to post a thread on the subject
Regards

Boosted, the thread is already up
I am due to put a few more pictures up
However you can see the whole project picture set here:
ImageShack Album - 55 images
It does not have any comments or build info, just pictures
There is also one about the fibreglass seat build
Both threads are in this forum
Regards

Update
Bit of a change of plan. I stumbled across the Ducati Kaemna "supersmall" fairing and decided this would be the way to go. With a little patience and careful drilling they fit up nicely. I also went with a CRG mirror and replaced the rear signals with small leds. Remaining projects are to work with a local upholsterer to modify the Corbin seat to take the stock cowling (I think it can be done) and find a good shop to color match the Kaemna fairings. I'm going to put a few miles on it first to make sure there aren't any issues. Here's the work-in-progress.

That looks great! I'd even be tempted to leave it black - it kind of plays off the other black accents on the bike. Where did you find it???
I'll be watching your progress closely, since I've been having very similar interests in "cafe-ing" my '95 CR lately. I was trying to decide whether to remove the fairing altogether, too (until I saw this!), also remove the rear hugger, try to find a fender eliminator, change the mirrors, turn signals, etc.

The fairings are available from these folks in Germany: Ducati Kaemna. Fortunately, they take a paypal payment.
A couple of folks have mentioned liking the red/black look. I'm considering it. I'll make that call after I get the Corbin seat back from Grateful Threads in Austin, where it is staged for modification to accept the stock seat cowling.

Oh, so you actually got it from Germany. I found their website after your post, but I thought maybe they had an American dealer.
Thanks for the info - I really like that.
