Rusty headlight holding sub-frame

Hi Guys. Last time I went out for a ride I noticed that vibration was affecting one of the mirrors more than the other, which I thought was a bit suspect. When I got home I found that there was some black grease hiding a lot of rust on the join of the arm of the subframe that goes up the side of the windshield by the mirror. It looks like it's rusted from the inside out, and is obviously not sturdy anymore due to the shaking. I'm pretty pissed that I missed it when buying the bike and that is was hidden this way. Anyway, looks like I'm going to have to replace this part of the subframe. Looks like its about $500 US to replace the part OEM. Are there any other options like a aluminium one or anything that might be an upgrade while I'm doing this?

I bought another off of eBay and refurbed it, swapping them over?

I also welded an extra bar in to either mirror stay to stop them jibbiling around, the standard single stay is prone to cracking at the base - a little triangulation should sort this out.

Much less mirror vibration - SORTED.
