LOL, I thought the same thing when I read that. I find mine stops pretty fast, but I'm coming from a '78 Yamaha's stock front brake . . . which doesn't stop very well actually . . . to say the least. Glad to hear you say that, thought I might be crazy for a minute

I think he goes on to describe the magical difference changing (his old and probably glazed) pads had on braking performance.
