swingarm question

ok, i'm looking for a hugger to fit the last iteration of the ss swingarm that i used on my project bike (sourced from a ss1000ds) but my post got bumped to the classifieds where it will probably die a slow death in obscurity...

i've poked through the ss picture thread a bit and noticed that the same (or similar) swingarm was on the newer generation 900ss as well - looks like starting around '02?

i've had no luck finding one searching based on the 1000ds alone, so perhaps you ss guys might be able to help with identifying which models have this swingarm so i can cast a wider search net. are the swingarms the same for the 900ss as the 1000 or is one for a wider wheel? i'd like to get a list of what models/years i can search.

also, are there aftermarket huggers out there?

thanks in advance for your help!

Wow, cool bike! I bet it's loud! 1000 DS hugger (available from dealer) has different part number from pre-'99 SS. Motowheels may be able to help with an aftermarket one.

Definitely a nice ride! Yes, huggers are available. Just look around out there.

thanks guys - i'll keep looking.

the bike has a very strong note, but is actually not as loud as you might think... it's a 2-1-2 setup with a baffled collector box under the seat. it's a ds1000 motor with hyper cams, fi yanked and 41mm flatslides + an MSD ignition. trigger is off the layshaft pulley w/a custom pickup plate. gsxr front end, complete custom frame from thinwall large diameter chromo w/an aluminum bolt-on rear subframe.

in case anyone is interested, build thread is here: Custom Cafe Build

The hugger from a Pierobon F042 would/should fit as they use the later model 1000ss swing arm.

thanks - i did a forum search and found that old thread, the links are no longer active and damned if i can't find a hugger out there. the pierobon one is cool but doesn't protect the back of the cases as it doesn't extend below the hoop.

i'll just keep looking, bound to find something someday...

Sorry mate, I didn't check the links. One more suggestion, try ebay in different languages like Italian and German. Someone posted something about it a while back and I remember finding all sorts of goodies by doing searches for things like "Carro posteriore in carbonio Ducati hugger"

Some sort of online translation like google or babelfish will come in very useful. You could also try asking this ebay seller if he can find something for you as he claims to have access to stuff not listed on his site.

victorysnc items - Get great deals on Monster, Scarico Completo items on eBay Stores!

I bought my full exhaust system off him and others have purchased carbon fiber fairings really cheap. He's a nice fella, not real good at speaking English though.
