900 ss/sp, sl, cr, fe???
Ok, so this is probably a dumb question, but can anybody school me on the different models? I gather that the CR is the half faired version, SL was the limited superlight, FE was the final edition, etc. What is the SP? I thought that was just a full fairing version, like what I have, but it seems that the SP's have a number plate on the triple clamp, and I know my bike doesn't, so I guess I'm just a plain SS? Thanks in advance for looking at my silly question.

SP had a numbered plaque on the top triple clamp, starting in 1995 or so. Otherwise you have an SS, not SS/SP, although the specs may have been the same.

Ya gonna bring that thing out to Miller? They are loads of fun at the track. Look for me and say hello, if you do.

I'd love to bring it to Miller, I don't know if I'm that good of a rider just yet but you've got to start somewhere, right? I didnt know you were that close to SLC, good to meet another local entheusiast. BTW, know any good welders out this way?

Sorry, I know no welders where you live. I'm 5 hrs. from Miller, but that's 1/2 the distance to the next nearest track. Which can't compare to Miller. So my wife, dog and I go and camp in the paddock at Miller and do a track day a few times a year. If you've ridden on the street for a few years (dirt riding experience doesn't hurt), you're probably good enough to ride around a track. Where everyone is going in the same direction, and there are no old ladies or buses to run you down, or telephone poles to hit. Warning and disclaimer: IT'S ADDICTING!
I'd call Salt Lake Motorsports for a bike-related welder recommendation. They're good guys.
