Help Needed From The U.S,A, Ducati SS Owners,

Hi Guys & Gals,

lm New On Here & lm After Some Help In Aquiring Some Minor Parts For My Bike
from The SS Owners In The U.S. of A.

l have always wanted to own (& l "Mean" always)
the U.S. version of the 1992 superlight,

Well in Australia it was a 1992 version,
For you guys it was a 1993,
The one with the 2 piece Marvics,
Ever since l saw one in a U.S. magazine l fell in love...

Well late last year l took the plunge and purchased one from e-bay,
l will include a pic below,

With the Australian private import rules its impossible to bring the bike in, (Well nearly anyway)

l got it in as parts & then had to re assemble it here,

Anyhoo what lm after it the 2 reflectors that sit on each fork leg (orange) & if possible the 2 reflectors (Red) that sit on each side of the bike under the single seat unit & bracket,

lm just trying to get the bike back to original,
The reflectors l have at the moment are the best l could do from this end but l know they are not right,

lm happy to pay for the bits....

The bike came from California, l dont know if that makes a difference,

Thanks for reading...

Greetings:

I might have those pieces in the garage attic. Give me a couple of days to dig through.

Cheers,
Ricky

G'day Evil Dwarf, very nice bike mate. Congrats!

Just out of curiosity, I have heard that the 2 piece Marvics can develop problems with cracking after the bolts that secure the rim to the spokes enlarge with wear.

Have you had any issues with your wheels and how many km's has your bike done? I would love to own a real Superlite one day but am wary on this detail as I have heard it is a common issue.

I wish I knew these reflectors were of value to someone. Bought my bike last Febuary and the reflectors were one of the first thing to get removed and thrown away .Infact I think I still need to remove the adhesve.

Either way you got a great looking bike.

This really brings home a point. One day every bike we own (the ones that survive anyway) will be somebody's restoration project.

Every part, and I mean every part on the bike will be important right down to the emission control stuff.

Never ever throw anything away

I personally never sell the oem parts from my bikes. I carefully clean them and wrap and label them for the future.

I'm a nut but I used to restore vintage cars and have a few bike projects too - I know the value of the parts most of you just pitch in the bin.

+1. Well said.

I'm into old cars too ( MG B's and MK1 Ford Escorts ). I do the same as you with my OEM parts if I remove them from the bikes or the cars.

Steve,

The front reflector part number is 529.1.001.1A.

The rear reflector part number is 529.4.001.1A

I bashed "Ducati OEM" into Google, and went to the Pro Italia site. Those part numbers come up as $1.91 and $1.57 respectively!!!!

Just bash the part number in without the "." between the numbers ( make it one continuous number ) and it comes up.

Hope this helps,
Andrew.

Hi Ya Andrew...

What....!
You found the bits but wouldnt buy & pay for them for me....
Talk about slack....

Pro italia only go back as far as the year 2000 as far as l can understand with their parts,
So my 93 model misses out...
Dam it...

Cheers,
