1000DS differences from 2003-2007? - Ducati.ms

I've noticed when looking up the specs for 1000DS that they seem to have different power and torque measurements for different years. Is anyone able to tell me how the model has changed from beginning to end?

Also, having looked around a lot for header options to replace the stock exhaust up to my staintune ovals, it seems the best option would be to go for a custom fabrication from a specialist. Anyone know what kind of ballpark figure in HP/torque I would be looking at for a high flow system maybe 48-50mm?

I have heard it said that the 2003-04 models had their hp/tq values measured at the rear wheel while the 2005-06 numbers were at the crank. But, I don't know the truth of it. Just saw it somewhere.

Only difference between the bikes is when they swapped colors from grey frame/grey wheels to red frame/black wheels. I think that was for '06 but not sure. Other than the color change, there is no difference between any year 1000.

Thanks for that guys, I feel MUCH better about my bike now... not that I am a good enough rider to really use the extra HP yet, I felt a bit let down when I read the stats on the 2007 had 95hp and mine had 85! :-)
