Slightly longer sidestand for a '98 900SS?

I've installed a stock shock from a '99 900SS on my '98. The shock is a bit longer than the original, so the bike leans over a bit much. Is there a sidestand from another model that will bolt on which is a bit (1/2" or so) longer? Right now I'm too lazy to cut and weld the original one.
thanks,
-Armen

I'm going to look into an ST sidestand . I've got a friend with an ST2 and I want to see if his will fit my 96 SS. I'm pretty sure it will bolt on easily enough , but don't know if the stand part will clear the exhaust . Cycle cat makes longer stands for the ST mount so if it will work that would be an easy solution .

It does lean further but never had any issues with the normal sidestand.

Howdo!!

Fitted an extended body on my Ohlins shock to quicken the steering on my Superlight, welded the standard Alloy stand but caught it on a trip to Italy which broke at the weld and had to carry a brick round to stick under the half a stand (Not good for the power to weight ratio)

Fitted a ST3 stand and all's good bike sits perfect.

Cheers Pablo

Got a lengthened Fox shock on my carby - are the stands longer on the injection SS's due to the longer shock? has anybody got a carby & IE stand they can compare?

Hey Pablo Pirate , thanks for the vindication of my idea of using a stand off of a n ST . One question . When the stand is retracted in the up position , does it sit closer inboard ? The stock stand on my 96 slightly fouls my boot with my DP rearsets . The ST stand looks like it would give me a little more clearance there in addition to being longer and holding the bike more upright at rest .

Thanks
Ron
