99 Supersport: Front Fender\Tire Warmers\Clearance

Hello,
Am having fitment issues with trying to put on tire-warmers under the front fender of my 99 SS track bike. Can anyone recommend an aftermarket front fender with more vertical clearance? Thanks!

Elongating the holes in the fender with a chainsaw file helps, but only an 1/8" or so. Pirelli Superbike Pro trackday slicks solved the problem for me (they don't need tire warmers as they heat up quickly, and aren't as affected by heat cycling). I have 4 track days on mine and they look about 1/2 worn out or less, and are still quite sticky. Plus I've used them in air temperatures from the low 40s to the high 90s, something race rubber has a hard time doing.

Thank you for the suggestions Joe-B. I do have some chain saw files, and will look into the Pirelli SP trackday slicks for the next set of tires..

If you do get the Pirelli red stripes, be careful on the first few laps. Apparently they still use a mold release compound. Mine were slick as snot on the first few laps, and I actually crashed on them the first time I leaned beyond where I had scrubbed them.

After that they have been great, but I am not the only one who had a scary few first laps on those tires...see the online reviews.

Pirelli SBK Pro slocks

Any links to bad reviews of them? I've only read glowing reports. Sorry for the thread jack; I'll PM YellowDuck.

I found my warmer snagging on the rivet that holds the clip for the brake line that crosses over the fender. See if that is the source of your clearance issue and modify as needed. Make sure you tighten the warmer very snugly around the tire and then keep tension on the warmer as you feed it under the fender.
