Smile SS owners in New Zealand?

Wondering how many SS owners there are around my part of the world. Last week I got me a 2003 red & silver 1000DS. I'm absolutely in love with it, but thanks to the previous owner also being in love with it there isn't much that needs doing on it at the moment. Looking to see who else has these in NZ, and if anyone is in Auckland would be keen to hang out & go for rides

Me too! I'm in Wellington.

Sorry, no road riding for me, but I've got two track bikes, a SS750 experimental and a 998.

Hiya from the shaky South

I've got two:

A mint NZ New '95SS/SP done 14000Km which is pretty stock apart from Arrow pipes and Superbike rotors.

And an '89 which has been, and is perpetually in the process of being, extensively modified. See

Nice to meet you guys, I'm planning on doing a top to bottom road trip in 2012 so I might stop by some of you guys areas, would be keen to ride with you all

I'm pretty new to Ducati this bike being my first one. I've previously only owned small old dungers like a GN250 and GB250. At the moment I'm waiting on a 12foot, 12mm link ABUS chain and lock from the US before I'll feel comfortable with leaving my bike in my parking garage. It is insured but they only give you money if someone wheels it into a van and takes off with it, and i'm in love with MY bike

Maybe its new love but everytime I go down to the garage to check on her, I have the surreal feeling you get when you look at a bike in a showroom... of reverence. It hasn't sunk in really that she is mine

I'll post some pics of mine soon, she is in pretty good shape, very standard except for some Staintune slip-ons. Been dreaming about 3 things...
*Carbon farings: Road fairings
*Sphagetti headers: would love staintunes but they are impossible to find so looking at SIL-MOTO Header SS1000DS 03-06
*full repaint. Her paint is in very good nick but not perfect, would LOVE fresh, perfect shiny glossy paint on farings & frame and polished swingarm

no way I can afford these things, but still loving dreaming about them.

Haha my first bike was a 1986 GB250 Clubman, the black with gold pinstripes and single seat retro-styled one that looked like a "60's Norton / BSA / Triumph / whatever else. Those were the days

Hamish - My '92 900 SS is up to a whopping 11,458km
