SO I finally brought my new to me Duc Home.

Just brought her home today. So I noticed a few things

A little tear on the edge of the seat on the right side at the corner and the cans have a very slight oxidization to them. The seat tank bumper thingy has some signs of wear. I will post some pictures in a little.

I guess for her age not bad.

Clutch question though. Clutch engaged, just engine noise, clutch un-engaged and noise from the tranny, I guess that is just the dry clutch sound?

What should I check first on the bike just to make sure everything is OK?

Congratulations. I would suggest putting some info on your bike in your signature. Hard to comment when we don't know which model or year of bike you have.

Yeah, probably the clutch sound. Congratulations on your new machine. Love the two valve 900SS. Have you had the opportunity to ride it?

I check out just about everything when I pick up a used bike. Brakes, clutch, valves, new belts, all fluids changed, chain condition, fuel delivery, etc...

First thing: Valve adjust. I never trust they are proper unless I've eyeballed them. Just me. I never trust anyone. Then the regular tune up stuff. Enjoy. BTW, how many miles?

1. Dry clutch noise.
2. New cam belts (before valves). You DON'T want a belt to break !
