Dzus fasteners?

I did a search but could not find any info about switching to Dzus fasteners on a '99-'06 Supersport. Removing the fairing on my '05 SS1000DS is such a pita I'm about ready for any modification. Anyone done this?

There was a huge thread on this started by "anonymous.shyster" from memory. He did heaps of work on this to get a kit together and then sought enough takers to make his efforts/group purchase worthwhile. A lot of effort went in by A.S as length ( as the Bishop said to the actress) is very important.

Here is the link to to thread. First quick release dzus SS/DS kit order ready, need more buyers.

Not being critical, but I just typed Dzus into the search in the SS forum and up popped the link I posted just before this one.

Searches aren't as intuitive as us. I have searched for things I know are in the forum but eventually "discovered" where they were hiding by simplifying terms.

Unfortunately this means more manual filtering of hits.

I was one of the guys interested in that thread. I know that there are some other kits for other Ducs but if there is a kit that covers some of the bolts for our bikes, id buy that. Does anyone know if one of the kits for the 999 or any other bike fits?

The critical thing is getting the length right for each body part and the part the Dzus fasteners fit into.

That is why Anonymous.Shyster spent so much time with samples etc. to work put the kit together for his SS.

Maybe it is worth resurrecting the other thread and seeing if you can get enough people together so A.S can get the numbers together to make it economic.

Hey Richard,

We need a kit for ST's as well while there at it. I made enquiries with Kurvey Girl in Arizona last year & still nothing.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to everyone

Craig

Changing to a 1/2 fairing might be a bit easier than rigging up some dsuz fastners. Just a thought.

Dsuz fasteners sound like something I would really like to do, but what about theft? I could see putting them on my track bike but after paying a small fortune for a CF front fairing , and scoops, on my street bike, I could see them disappearing very fast.
