Painting frame on 750ss
Hi,
The white trellis frame on my 1991 bike has a few chips in it and there's some rust forming which is making the bike look tatty.
A couple of questions; It's a 1991 750ss, is there a colour chart so I can pick up a matching colour? And how would I go about painting those bits (sanding, gloss, technique)?
Any help would be great.

I think any trellis frame want to be red
I have paint my frame red with a spray painting gun after I have used a fine sandpaper to prepare the surfaces. it looks almost like new. you just have to be careful to put the right amount of paint on the surface, and with such a complicated geometry on a trellis frame it is not to easy, but it can be done with a little patience.
good luck
Here is my result

That looks VERY nice. I think Ducs should be red/silver or black/red. Yours proves the black/red combo!

Hello there buddy
I assume you are stripping the bike down
You may find the amount of time taken to paint the frame would be better spent having it powdercoated
You can find the results of mine in the "750ss cafe racer seat unit build" thread
So much easier

Ahh, I will not be stripping it down! I have no technical and mechanical nous and very little time. Basically, I just want to touch up a few minor cosmetic issues. Anyone have original Ducati colour codes?

Ah, I see, try your local Ducati dealer, they will have the code for your bike
I didn't know the 91 had a full fairing. I thought they all had 1/2 like my 92
You live and learn

Ok.
Flatline, it's more a typo than anything. You're right, 91 750ss didn't have full fairings, I'm just looking for a set of 900ss for my 750ss
