Red face 2003 Ducati SS 1000DS suspension setup

Hi Guys, I'm very new to bikes in general last one I had was a '81 honda CB250 with normal old school springs... same with the one before a GN250.

Getting my new baby tomorrow but I will need to set the suspension up before I start riding it cause the guy I'm buying it from must weight about 110kg and I weigh 73. It has Ohlins rear and Showa front.

is anyone able to point me to a manual/guide for this and give me some tips?

Lots of suspension guides on Google. Here are some suggested settings from Sportrider magazine.

The first thing you need to do is see if you can set the sag properly. This will tell you if you have the correct spring rates or not, in case the previous owner replaced the springs with stiffer ones for his weight. Beyond that, you should do some searches and learn all you can about preload, spring rates, and compression and rebound damping.

If you can get some smart person to assist you it would be $$$ well spent...
I would suggest that you don't do anything to overly major ,because everything you do affects something else,
Just be careful with it at first get to know it , tire pressure and all that good stuff..
the more you dig into suspension the more there is to learn..
Take your time and get used to the bike before getting too brave...
ENJOY
