Bent key, need a spare/replacement
My key is slightly torqued from turning it in the keyhole for removing the seat. Not sure how long it's been that way but i'd like to get a spare or two in case it snaps off one day. I haven't called Ducati yet but do they still have keys to buy or is there another source?
Thanks,

i just bent mine back. gave it a little heat and got it straight. Then I went to the hardware store to make a copy, just in case it breaks. Bikes that early didn't have to be matched up with the ECU and the key.

Get a few copies made. The Kawi blanks work. Use that for the seat and the Duc key for the Ign.
Cheers,
Ricky

There are titanium keys that have the Ducati D in the key head. They are very good key blanks that any lock store can duplicate. They cost about $12 on ebay. I have one for my SS. Don't think this titanium key it will bend but push down on the seat a little as you turn the key. Should help keep the key straight.

Ducati dealers still
Carry the keys they are around 12-15 bucks each key and any locksmith can cut them for you. Got two of them from Ducati Newport Beach just ask around cause some will try to rip you off there's over four dealers around me so I was able to price around the best price cause one dealer actually wanted 25 a key

Ok cool-
First I'll straighten mine and then I'll check with the local Stealers before I call SLC Duc to compare. I was a bit afraid it would be cheesy pot metal and crack in half if I tried to straighten it!
Thanks!

I bought a blank Ducati key (but any universal key should work) on ebay once to make a spare of my slighlty bent one (I didn't have a spare key).
A locksmith can duplicate one.

Maybe you should leave the straightening to a locksmith just to be sure.

Do they still have the Ducati key with the plastic head with the tricolor insigna available? I'd like to have anonther couple made for my old Ducs and another for the wallet.
