what should the factory gearing be on my 2000 750ssie?

I want to change my gearing and chain out for better(around town) ratios, but I was wondering what came stock on my bike as my stuff looks to be aftermarket. And do any of you guys have good suggestions on what gearing to go with and what chain I want? Thanks

LOTS of threads on this. stock is 15/40

a lot of people go 15/42 or 15/43

i use sproclkecenter.com because they bundle it with a light-weight front, allow rear and they pre-cut your chain to the correct length.

Yes, 15/40 stock. I really liked the 15/43 setup on that bike, even though it is only a 5-spd.
