Dimensions of 99- shock?
I'm looking to buy a shock from another member. It is uncertain if the shock in question came off a carbie or fuel injected bike. Dimension given for center of eye to eye is is 365mm (14 3/8"). If the length doesn't help is there a visual design difference between the two? Thanks.

There is about an 8mm difference between the carbie and FI units. It does seem a bit long though.
I just checked my FI shock I have on the shelf and it shows about 337mm(preload all out). My Penske on my track bike is measuring at 350mm, and that's adjustable ride height as far out as it should go.
If I were in the market, I would look for a 1000DS rear shock as it has adjustable ride height.

IIRC the Fuelies have a knurled adjuster on the piggyback. If it is an OHlins you can rebuild them to get 10mm more height if it's a carbie spec vs a fuelie spec shock. Getting one with ride height adjustment is the way to go. Just remember your chain tension will be different if you add height. I have a stock 3way of an SP for sale if interested (revalved by B. Meyers) NOT height adjustable.

Have a look on the top of the shock, it should have an ID number either cast or stamped into it. It'll be something like DU235 or similar. (or if not a Ducati shock it could have a different prefix...)
Post the number up and either myself or somebody else on here will be able to identify it for you.
