Fixed tensioner assembly, (belt roller bearing)
the part number is 451.1.025.1a
It's the "third" bearing that guides the belts on the 900SS
Ducati lists it as a $121 part. Anyone know where I can get this bearing? Or anyone know the size so I don't have to buy the overpriced Ducati one?
Thanks!

I've found two part numbers
45120211A -- later models
45110251A--- older
They look like the same part. Are the two bearings the same for the older and newer models?

Try here, I bought a complete set of cam tension replacement bearings from them.

$50+ dollars just seems insane for a single bearing. I've searched and searched and I guess it's a custom size because no one has found a cross reference.

I just took the covers off my 2006 800ss and looked at the bearing. Stamped on the side is 6201 2RS2, with the help of a magnifying glass and light (camera helped too..) A source for these lovely bearings http://www.vxb.com/page/bearings/PRO...FWsZQgodtWxCmw about $10 each. A quick call to them will clarify the meaning of the additional 2 at the end.
and a photo of the 800ss.

Thanks rummaggio, however I'm looking for the "other" bearing, ie. the fixed tensioner assembly in the parts catalog. It's the one directly across from the bearing you posted.

whoops, thought I crossed it correctly.
Went back to look at that and could not see any numbers on the side as with the 6201. This is interesting and I will continue to look around as well.
*Did some more research. It seems this may be a water pump bearing as indicated by some other threads. Here are some dimensions for an SKF model which has been referenced (SKF 367073A)
/N A C S2 S1 D D2 D1 K L F Dw DWl G M WEIGHT
367073A 49 23 18 3.5 12.738 M8*1 12.5 24 22 29 4.763*12 10 15.92
Searching for water pump bearings comes up with numerous types, not one in particular to a threaded shaft as used by Ducati.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/28..._Bearings.html
Still a mystery, but will continue looking around.
This part number has also shown up (037029350)

I've looked for this bearing myself in the past, and besides not finding anything, I've come across comments from others much more astute than most of us that have found this bearing is specific to this application. That being said, it certainly would be possible to get something close and then machine the appropriate mounting post and outer sleeve to give it the exact specifications required size-wise. As long as you used something that was suitable for the RPMs intended it would probably work. But as I am not a mechanical engineer and can't crunch the numbers to back up my theory, I just bought the factory pieces. I paid $73.00/each. The cost of failure was just too high.

Figured as such, thanks for all the research, I'm doing some work for a friend so I was trying to find budget options for him. I found the pair for $106 from ducati omaha.
