Top end rebuild - what & where to buy gasket & o-rings?

So I over-revved my bike and floated the vertical cylinder at a recent track day. Puking oil out the back of the vertical cylinder, looks like a blown base gasket.

I've heard Viton o-rings are the way to go, as are improved head studs, maybe off a 916? What is the hot setup, please, and where do I buy? My local dealership sucks so I'm hoping for an online source.

Bike's got a 944 kit with hi comp piston, so I want to rebuild it with correct (upgraded) parts this time.

Thanks!

Query how much you need. IIRC those vertical cylinders loooovvvve to leak at the base. New gasket, with some Yamabond if you ask me - it worked for me - and maybe that o-ring and you're probably good to go.

Now, if you WANT to throw parts at it, don't let me talk you out of it....

Ferracci or Nichols will sell you cylinder studs, the originals on your bike had a habit of breaking. The stock orings work fine provided the heads are torqued properly. The base gaskets will seep if you thrash the engine hard. Using hylomar or 3 Bond helps some but they will still seep.

Awesome thanks for the tips guys.

When I said "float" I mean I over-revved the bike and the subsequent increase in cylinder pressure "lifted" the vertical cylinder enough to pop the base gasket. I reckon if I managed to "float" a desmo valvetrain I'd be digging my bike out of a pond, eh? har har.
