Clutch master parts

Hi
Anyone know if this is the type of clutch master that cant be rebuilt? (Haynes manual says there are two type)
The dust cap is cracked and I cant quit figure out how to get the rest of the dust cap out ?? Cant see any retaining ring or sirclip... ?

So, no ones ever taken their master clutch cylinder apart for repair?

That looks kinda like the coffin type master cylinder. If so, then probably not. They're horrible and mine are going in the garbage.

From looking at your pics it appears that you have a 13mm unit (as identified by the 13 stamped in the housing). The attached link may work for you.

I rebuilt my MC last Spring and was satisfied with the kit (12mm I think) though the instructions were weak. The dust seal is a real joy to remove/replace. If I recall correctly there is a retainer that secures the seal in place after the seal is installed (it fits over the seal). Study it carefully and be patient. Good luck.

Call Yoyodyne and speak to Fred. He'll advise as to whether it can be rebuilt. As for coffin style Brembo masters, they are fine.
