Red face LOL I'm a newb :o

So I've had my bike a little over a month now, and I've been wondering what those two tabs under the seat were. Even went so far as to watch the seat close, like some one trying to watch the light in the refrigerator turn off. trying to see what they held on to.

I was just going through a parts breakdown pdf I have, and ran across a sticker "Helmet Holder Under Seat"... Sometimes I feel dumber than others

Tabs? Are you referring to the bent wire looking things where you attach the helmet cable? 'Cause if they did away with the cable on the '99 supersport, I am angrily confused why they still have it on my '04 ST3. What a stupid design.

Mine look to be stamped sheet metal? stronger I'm sure, but they have kind of a arrow shape, without the point. I can take a pic if you like.

but definitely not bent wire itself

Well, during cleaning I removed the rearsets on my '92 SL.

There is a brake light switch that bolts in the rearset which is a PITA to remove and to get back in.
Did this a couple of times.... until I found out there is an electrical connector just a bit higher. Removing the rearsets is a touch of joy now

So, you're not that dumb after all
