Single seat Super Sport options
Hi all, my Ducati just ran out of rego so I'm looking to get it back on the road as soon as possible. I don't often carry a passenger, as I've grown up and got over my fixation with impressing impressionable ditzy women on the back of such a fine motorbike. I think it's time I went solo.
So what are my options? A cowl? Perhaps, but I don't know anybody who makes one...
Corbin seat? Do they make one for a '99 model that only accomodates for one rider only?
A different rear end? Is there one, just out of interest?

Sargent builds a seat with a colored panel and a more pronounced "drop" that emulates the look of a solo seat, and IMHO and some others, it's more comfortable than the stock seat (opinions vary though, of course).
That would give you the best of both worlds, assuming you're anticipating the possibility of needing to stop along the highway to pick up a young hitch-hiker after her car broke down-- with a true solo seat, you would be forced to drive on and sigh to think about what might have been ...

Sharkskinz and Airtech both make solo seats. The pads are still available from Ducati. The pic is of my Sharkskinz solo seat on my track bike. Very lightweight and no special mounting brackets needed.

Please take note, I am after something to fit a 1999 model ducati, as stated in my topic. These are very different to the pre-99 Super Sport.

Airtech doesn't seem to make a solo seat for your model.

Not sure about the sharkskinz one, hard to tell if you can run it with a taillight or not. The picture doesn't inspire me to purchase it. Maybe if it had better photos and a description it might catch my eye. Has anybody installed it on the forums?
As for the PURE-TEC one, it looks amazing, however they don't make it clear if it's the whole rear section or just the seat. By reading between the lines, I _think_ it's the whole rear section, as they say 'can be provided without cutout for taillight'. If so, that's not too bad at all! I might get me that!
Thanks guys. Still haven't made my mind up, I'm infatuated with the PURE-TEC rear, but the whole idea was to save a bit of money on rego, it might be a while paying that rear end off! I have too many bikes Sell one, ride more I guess.
