Let the modding begin
I was not planning on starting this little project for a while, but fate has forced my hand!
Our subject is a 1994 900ss that I bought from a member here last fall (yikes, a year already!).
I've been slowly gathering parts for this bike to spice it up, and am not quite finished. The ultimate plan is an engine-out strip down and restoration/mod. However, I find myself needing to do some mechanical work to the bike now, which brings up the ever popular "while you're in there..." approach. So, while I'm in there, on go:
the Keihin FCR 41s, and the Sil Moto stainless spaghetti header and CF high mount exhaust. I just ordered the exhaust yesterday, but have the Keihin's in hand already. Also some DP coils and some other hi perf electrickery parts.
That's all I'm going to do right now. Other pieces parts that I have gathered for the eventual full build include Technomagnesio magnesium wheels, Braketech cast iron rotors, Aella floating rear caliper kit, superbike fork upgrade, and a few other odds and ends. The reason this project is not going full bore until next winter is that I need to use superbike parts from my 916, which has yet to undergo it's modifications.
So many projects, so little time.

Whilst an older model, there is heaps that can be done. Check this link/pdf on a 1973 750SS for ideas.

Pete, now 75, is a mate of mine and he and a group of us get together for beers every Friday night. Pete is going to "Molloy" my 900 when I have some spare funds. It won't use titanium, but will be blueprinted first, then heads, cams, porting, compression, mapping etc.

You're welcome. You can buy the set up new from Japan for around $490 plus pricey shipping. Maybe able to get them for less here in the states, but i don't know who sells them.
