89-90 900 clutch question

hello all,

Trying to troubleshoot an early clutch without the pushrod through the motor.
Not sure on stack height as it was put back together with more than enough plates lying around so it has been assembled with a stack height of 38mm.

We are having trouble with the clutch engagement. Seems to be a nice lever but stalls when putting into gear.....

I haven't seen as it is a freinds whio has it all back together after splitting for case repair after an accident.

Cheers in advance.

Nick.

Hmmmm. Did the clutch plates go back into the bike in the right order?

Got stranded by one of these in Rakia once.

The thrust bearing on these things can be problematic. You need to bleed and bleed again to get the air out of the sytem. Don't rely on the bleed valve, take the cover off and do it manually with your thumb, obviously making sure that the bearing doesnt pop out.

You might not find too much help here, the 89-90 wasnt sold in the US. NZ & Auz seem to have got half the worlds supply! Guinea pigs cos we can fix stuff maybe?

Good job!

Had a 2000 RSV Mille R (loved that bike!) and thought the '07 Tuono might be better, more top endy. And it is... but, have to say I just don't get on with it. The 'old' motor was just so massively wonderfully raw. Esp with the Akra Ti Aprilia racing pipe. (Or maybe I just prefer sportsbikes.) So back on Trade Me it'll be going.

I'm a Ducati man, but having worked for Britten I have a huge soft spot for 60* watercooled V-Twins.So, if you know anyone with a 07-> RSVR Factory, (or even a special Duke 998/999) might be keen on a trade.

Cheers
H
