We finally got our 996R project running after taking it down to the frame.
It is a blast to ride. I forgot how committed a riding position it was--but it sure feels at home at the track. It felt better than our 1098...

Thanks, yeah the position is definitely one not all will love. Being that I hadnt ridden a sport bike in yrs, after only going 8 miles I could feel it in my wrist. Just gonna have to get some more ridding in and get use to it again
Oh and nice shirt, Ive got the same one. lol

Well the Maviryk battery showed up today. All I can say is wow. Nice part and price with the sale and ducati.ms discount. The guys over at bellissimoto were great. Very nice to talk to and very informative about everything.
Also getting the whole headlight situation underway. Robbed a HID head light from our parts stash (2004 Chrysler pacifica) and am getting it all situated so I know where to cut the new catalyst fairing. I'll get some pics up in a few weeks when the fairing gets here to show the install and painting.

Thanks again for all the compliments. Today and a few of the last days the parts have been showing up. The low temp fan switched, Carbon swing arm cover, Catalyst RS upper fairing, Yoydyne RS intake runners, RS carbon rear sets.
Tonight I was able to get the air runners and upper fairing pre fit and now will be able to do the finish work on the fairing and get the runners wrapped in carbon. I will say the catalyst makes a nice product.
Anyways here are some pics.

Here is a pic of the rear sets. I will be swapping out the gold bolts for black ones and also a friend of mine is machining me a set of peg up and then they will be anodized black. I just got to anxious and had to see what they would look like. Still trying to find some corse style heel guards, so never mind the lack of guards.

Beautiful, and I bet you didnt have to pay anything near the original asking price of 52,000 did you? Way to go.

When I started reading this I thought you would be leaving the bike in the living room to preserve those 8 miles. Modify and ride...way to go!
That is my philosophy too, but I have never had to prove it with something as pristine as this bike. Enjoy.
