Well I was able to get some more things done this weekend. I purchased an extra v guard and at first drilled holes to vent to the 999r vented belt covers. I didn't like the way it looked when mounted. Kinda not finished. So I decided to cut some holes and re clear the piece then install some screens to finish it off. Also was able to re clear the swing arm guard, sprocket cover, brake line cover/chain guard.

With some of the v guard installed. I will be putting a gauze type of material behind the 3 smaller screens to keep as much dust out of the belts/engine area. But for now since there is no riding around here anymore, I had to install.

On a down note

Well today I installed the 180 temp switch and then started the bike. After starting and warming up I noticed some smoke coming from the front exhaust flange. I shut the bike off and pulled the header. UGH!!!! oil everywhere in the chamber. Pulled the front plug, covered in oil. DAM!!! I think its safe to say the rings are bad.

Sorry to hear about your bad.
That the last thing you want from a new bike.
All the good luck, might be a small thing.
