Two chips only I will suggest.
FIM (whatever their latest offering is): But only if you don't care to be able to tune or live by a dyno tuning facility that has the EXPENSIVE FIM software or handheld programmer.
I am currently running FIM ('091' I think?) in my 2000 748 Bip and quite frankly the chip does an awesome job! It got rid of so many little bothersome issues and really helped the hole between 4-6000 RPM. FIM tunes individual cylinders and richens the one that tends to run lean and visa versa. Very cool unless you want to tune the baby, then you are almost S$%T out of luck.
I will most likely retain my FIM in my tool box and switch to my other suggestion...
PowerCommander lll USB: Friends all over the world can send you a map to try because the software comes with the unit. PLug and Play! I do this all the time with my friends bikes. Plus there are a huge number of dyno facilities in the US that will tune your bike with this system. Better driveability and power will result. My friend just had his BUSA dyno tuned and picked up 8 HP at the top end will getting a flat air/fuel curve throughout the powerband. He loved it! If you make radical changes, have it tuned again and again. Unlike myself, who is currently stuck with the FIM that just happens to run well so far no matter what I have done (filters and exhaust for instance).
I too, do not have resonators since I ditched half my system for something much larger (57mm ...read 2 1/4 inches). So far the FIM chip is really good but I would like to dyno tune my bike soon without driving to OHIO!
