Which book did this come from?, because the "standard catalog" (by Ian Faloon) shows different numbers. For example, it states that for 2002 15 yellow 998 monos were made and 90 yellow 998 Bi's were made.

for the '00 748r, i believe it should read "yellow" instead of "red" as i'm fairly certain there were zero red bikes that made it to the u.s.

I dont know where I saw it, but I saw a picture of the Neiman Marcus cataloge page for the Neiman Marcus Ed. It said there were a limit of 50 avail for sale.

^ Various internet sources specify 100 units of production. Mercury metallic (silver) with blue wheels/graphics; CF front fender and chain guard. Model year reference varies, designated as 1998 or 2000.

Confirmation, anyone? Thanx all!

EDIT: Nevermind... The 102 Silver 1998 models must be the 748L NM bikes.

I gotta check his book and be sure but this number can't be right. I have number 299. Unless they made 560 for three years and didn't end the production number run, which makes sense. kinda cool, didn't realize that they didn't make too many of my ride. Though unfortunately it doesn't really affect the value.

EDIT: Actually, since the '99/'00 996S was US-only, I'd assume you're correct about successive-year numbering.
