I Need An Excuse
Yeah, I've been wanting pretty bad to get another Ducati. I've been looking at the 999R, but its a little too much money for what I am going to be doing. Therefore, I've got my eye on the 999s. So, I called a locat dealer and they email me an application. Sent it back to them, and they approved me for the 06 999s...in red of course. They've got one in stock. However, I don't know if I should wait till the 2007 bikes come out and get an 06 for cheaper or just go for it.
So, I'm pondering....Oh yeah the OTD price $24,500.00 . It's that a good price?

I've seen 999Rs for as low as 23K with hardly any miles. If I were you I would wait for the 1098 or 1198 to come out, probably 2008. It will make the 999 a dinosaur.

Heh...have you looked at a calender lately John? It's 2006. You are asking a crazed Ducati freak to put off buying for two years! Not gonna happen bro!
When will the '07's be on the dealer floors?

Don't waste your time on an "S" for 24.5K. You can buy a 999r like John said for those bucks. You'd be bummed if iI blew by you on a 999r and I paid the same you paid for an "s". The two bikes are no comparison....
Also, the "r" will hold way more resale

If I could find a dealer with a 999R for $24.5k I wouldn't even think about it, I'd just get it, but no one around CA has one for that price. I just turned in an application with my credit union see if they have a better APR% to buy from private parties.
Further, I'm not buying a Ducati to go fast. If I wanted to do that I'll just get my $10k 05 GSXR1000 and blow you off your 999r lol .

Hmmm, go get that $10k GSXR and lets see you blow past my 999R, I take no prisoners. You get your moneys worth on the 999R belive me when I say that. I have a Yamaha R1 and I also let my best friend Ride my 999R and he has a Brand New Yamaha R1. His exact words were " this bike makes mine feel like Junk, I dont even want to ride my R1 anymore!" and this guy had a very bad experience with a Ducati 996S that he bought so he was not a big fan of Ducatis, so hearing those words come out of his mouth was enough said

Dude, for somebody who has just completed his first track day, I think I'd leave the smack talking for someone else who can back it up. You don't have any idea what kind of rider Gus is, but trust me on this when I say there are MANY riders here that can smoke you. GSXR 1000 or not.
If you're just kidding, then I apologize, but I didn't see any smilies...
