Thinking of replacing the 10-year old fuel lines on my 999. Any recommendations for replacements, including the clamps? Preferably something slightly thinner (OD) than the stock ones...
SAMCO ProFuel, very $$$ but with it you get the extra cool points.
I ordered from THMotorsports a few months back. Their site said it was in stock but took a couple months to get. I'm guessing they had to order a spool from the UK then send me my desired length when it came in, so I'm assuming they really do have it in stock now... assuming. They sell them in 1 meter lengths, just short of what I needed to replace the two fuel lines under the airbox on my 998 so I had to go with 2 meters.
SAMCO fuel line hose is designed to handle fuel on the inside only. You need Gates or equivalent in-tank submersible 5/16" fuel line hose that exceeds the SAE 30R10 test standard. The hose needs to be rated in excess of 44 psi (3 bar).
Strega, thanks for pointing that out. I assumed the SAMCO ProFuel line was high pressure and it is not. I confirmed with SAMCO that their fuel lines are only suitable for low pressure carb lines. GATES is the way to go.
