What changes were made through the years on the 749 Dark?
What changes were made through the years for the 749 dark? I began noticing a subtle difference in the rear swingarm from the 05 to the 06 while looking for a bike. The 06 looks more solid, is painted black, and doesn't appear to have the same shape as the former years. Is there any performance sacrifice/improvement in this? Any other small changes through the years?
Thanks for your help.
As a side note, looking at picking up a clean 06 Dark with 2500 miles, leo exhaust, a few carbon bits, and an open clutch cover in 2 or 3 weeks for 7700.

There was a horse-power boost in the later years.

The 05 has the old swing arm as the 03-04 ducati 749's. The 05 has the
749R swing arm. Its alot more stable and better looking IMO.

You mean the 06 has the boxed swingarm. The newer swingarm is supposed to be more stable, and the nose is different on the 05, 06 model. And a little more power for those 2 years as well.

theres no hp boost in later years,hp was measured at the counter sprocket.then measured at the crank, thus ''more hp''.as far as the swingarm, lets get real if you think the newer arm make the bike more stabil.it slightly lighter and looks ''racey'' thats about it.the 05 and up bikes are ligher as the redesigned fairings are thinner and thus lighter
