Sorry, no bikes left...
I was wondering do I have to bring like $500 to a dealer to hold a new 848, or do you think there is going to be no problem in the spring grabbing a bike in the northeast area? Or is it too soon to tell? Don't want to bend over and take the no. 2 pencil come spring...

Depends on how the economy is in the spring. I wouldn't worry about it too much though. I know BCM in Laconia, NH always had atleast one in stock at all times. But they never had more than two, they were selling them about as fast as they came in. Another good dealer in this area is Seacoast in Derry, NH. Either one of them will treat you really well.

Yep
I guarantee you my shop will have at least three up for grabs in the spring. They still have 1 848 and 2 1098's.... not to mention a 1098R and the very same 999R that they screwed me on......funny how that is still on the floor!! The F'er stiffed me for an extra 500 bucks and the guy backed out.
No need for a dep. Worst case you save 2-3k and buy used.

As fast as the 848 goes out the door, they keep making them, so no worries. I have 2 in stock now, and more coming. If you want to put a hold on one, do so with the guarantee that the deposit is FULLY refundable. It's your money, nomatter what is implied so you can always take it back, so long as you don't sign any paperwork locking you in to the bike, hard to do as they wouldn't have a VIN to attach your deposit to. Also, put the deposit on a credit card, so you have recourse if a dealership tries to cheat you of your depsoit money.
FWIW, the 1198 will be a great bike, but they will be going out faster than ever, I believe.

There are several in stock at the deaker near me in CT. I think only the white ones were hard to find, not so much for the red. He also has a new custom yellow in stock.

Yeah when you are 20 the entire world screws you anywhere you go and deal with money. Pretty much I already know I'll have to threaten to smash somones teeth into the back of their head to get a penny back after they screw me over on the deal they "told me they would get me" Thats how the world works. I think I'm going to just buy a d. eagle or something so the problems end quicker.
