Sup Gents, and ladies, I seem to be having some problems w/ my gear shifter. Lately, it has been taking more "umph" to shift gears.
ANY Ideas on what it could be?? Any response appreciated.

shifter

Well, if you clutch is releasing fine and your shift lever is not loose on the shaft, then I don't have any promising words for you. There may be some slop on the shift fork shaft.
I don't know alot about these trannys but I would hope it is a clutch problem.
Good Luck

All gears or just the lower ones?

Both up AND down?

Bike cold/Warm?

Clutch good?

re-adjusted the gearlinkage recently?

How old is your oil? What weight? Is it a full synthetic? Good luck. MH

I own a 01' 748s and I recently changed the oil. BCM usually uses Klotz but the dealers in my area only carry Spectro. Changed to a 20-50 for the summer............The bike now shifts like complete ass.

I ordered some Klotz online as the shifting sucks so bad I don't want to ride it. It's just not right.

SO if you changed your oil lately I would make it prime suspect.
