Winged upper triple clamp for 749/999? Now where did I see that?

Hi All,

I once saw an upper triple clamp that was "winged". In other words, the outer ends were raised. It was designed to allow you to raise your fork tubes (presumably with no fork sticking up), and have your clip-ons come up as well. I believe they came up about 20mm or so.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or was I dreaming?

Also, if this does exist, does having your clip ons that high work? I was thinking that your clip ons might end up hitting your gas tank!

I'm thinking it would help if I could tinker around and install a Scotts steering damper on my bike as well if I had a different upper triple clamp. Seeing as the Darks don't come with a steering damper.
