748 gp shift question.
hi,
im looking to get gp(reverse) shift for my 748 and i was wondering what other people are using.
what are my options?
my track 05 r6 i just picked up woodcraft gp shift rod for like $20 and now i have a gp shift.
im pretty sure for my 748 i need to get rearset assembly.
thanks for reading and sorry about newbie question.
my bike is 2001 if it makes any difference.

Easiest/best way is a direct shift pedal like this;
Available from some Ducati dealers (and ebay), I did have some for sale a while back, (and can still get them but need a reasonable quantity to make the order), for around $60-$70.

I actually have the Ducati Performance pegs and levers, I lik'em! GP shift rocks house, I'd never go back! Being able to "slam" into the next gear, really helps, even in commuting! I'm still surprised bikes don't come stock like that.

i'm only afraid when i train myself to do reverse shift is forgetting to do the opposite when riding my other bike or someone elses. it will be a hairy experience.

You can do it for the price of a longer bolt and a washer.
Just remove the shift lever from the tranny shaft, turn it around and rotate it so that it is above the shaft instead of below. Move the linkage rod to the outside of the lever, and fit the longer bolt and washer between the lever and the linkage rod. Takes about 5 minutes, and costs maybe $1.
