LED turn signal problem on 996

Hey, I am new to the Ducati world and am loving it so far. I ahve just installed LED turn signals on my 2000 996 and am having a problem getting them to work right. I have installed a Kuryakyn load equalizer on the rear signal leads and now all the signals flash when I activate the switch either direction. The tech support at the company said it had something to do with the indicator light on the dash. I was hoping you guys would know of a fix that I could still use the dash indicator. Thank you for your time
Mike

I yanked the dash indicator bulb. Don't miss it at all...

I would throw the load equalizer in the garbage and buy an electronic flasher relay. The load equalizers get hot and can cause a fire. The electronic relays always flash at the same rate no matter how many or how few lights with no heat.

I didn't know there were electronic relays. I installed LEDs on my rear light with an integrator and I didn't install a load equalizer for those reasons. Where can I get one?

Holiday, How do you have the rear wired? I'd make sure that nothing is connecting the two sides of the tail light in anyway.

This is what I bought. I actually drilled holes in my mirrors and mounted 5mm LED's in them to get rid of the front turn signals. It has worked for 2 years now.

Nice...I think I got my 90 degree LEDs from Velocity LEDs. Can you send a pic of how it's mounted?

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Holiday.

It fits into the position that the original flasher relay fits. Just unplug the original and plug in the new one. Way too easy. The flasher relay is mounted on the left hand side of the battery box with 3 other relays. Just take off the fairing, flip on the turn signal, feel for the clicking, and replace it.

Nice. I haven't looked at the existing relay long enough to see what size it is. Thanks

I have the Custom Dynamic LED set up in the rear tail only. I didn't mess with the stock front turn signals and typically, they flash really fast. So, the unit above will cure this problem?

Do you know if there is an LED retrofit for the front stock signals like I did with the rears? At the time I did the rear, I couldn't find anything for the fronts. I don't want to remount the signals somewhere else. Now, if I would have known this before I bought signal light ready cf air runners, I would have seriously considered re-locating the signals in the mirrors and buying race cf air runners instead (no signal light provision). The 4 to 5 little LEDs in the mirrors is really trick looking. Damn, the more I think about it the more I want to do it, but what do I do about the stock signal light holes in the cf air runners? Oh well, stuff happens, i always disliked the stock front signal lights and I don't like flush fairing mounts as well. They seem to only look good on Asian bikes or Ducati Supersports where the signal lights mount on the fairing.

The unit will fix any and all fast flash problems from using LED's. I couldn't find anyone that made LED signals for the front that is why I made my own.
