is sil motor full exhaust louder than termi full exhaust?
hello,
is sil motor full exhaust louder than termi full exhaust?
I saw one post that said they were about the same. anyone have any differing opinions?
the termi still seems a little too quiet for my tastes (54mm full exhaust - stainless and titanium). looking for louder!

They are about the same.
If you want louder- take some packing out.
If you want real loud, take all the packing out and wrap the perforated pipe with Thermotec fiberglass tape. http://tinyurl.com/2nhdaj

No
Have a full silmotor exhaust on my 05 999, my buddy has a 06 999s with the 1/2 termi system....his sound way better than mine. A lot deeper sound. My silmotor is not bad but in my opinion the termi's sound better(louder).

awesome info! thanks! can replacement titanium rivets be easily located if I open it?
awesome info! thanks so much, had not heard about the packing thing!
Thanks for taking time out to let me know. I thought I would have to tear up the internals to make it louder, I could see removing some packing.....
wonder if I could get replacement titanium rivets for the can???? can replacement titanium rivets be easily located if I open it?

Are the rivets actually made of Titanium? I don't think Titanium would deform well enough to use as a rivet, I would think they're Aluminium and in any case Aluminium would work fine.

On canisters: Take one end off and slide off the skin and packing. Wrap the perforated pipe with Thermotec wrap. Close up with alum rivets. If you want it quiet, add some of the packing back in. The wrap alone will make the pipe louder. The Thermotec wrap protects the CF skin and absorbs some sound.
