Dzus installation.....
I cannot get the Dzus fasteners (bought from a vendor) to engage whenever the fairing goes on. Anybody had this problem ? Clip goes on and the pin will "usually" engage (seems senstive and seems to have something to do with how the clip is positioned) before the fairing goes up but then when the fairing goes up, the pin does not even come close to engaging (in any of the 8 I installed on my 748) no matter how hard I push in. It has been suggested to me that I need to "bend" it a bit.
I just said f-it and put the screws back in (which were qiute a bit longer than the pin but probably should be)
Anybody had a problem like this ?

I installed the Dzus fasteners on my ST4 and had to bend the clips a bit to get them to engage with the center pin. I only had to bend them just a little to get them to work. Now all is well.

I ordered mine form Fast by Ferrracci and have had no problems with them engaging at all. I purchased some for the bottom of the fairing. I did not put them in because I was afraid they would fall out and my fairing would do the splits. I can measure one of them and get back with you on the length of the pin.

they also make longer pins. what length you got? @ racebolts, they have 15mm and 16.8mm pins. i'm sure the vendor you bought them from may have the longer pins. otherwise, bend them like previous posters mentioned if they will reach.

If you flatten the sliders to much, they wont have any spring left in them
We sell the Ducati Dzus pins with the wider slanted heads. They are about 19mm.

My 916 was supplied new with Dzus fasteners on the fairing, including the bottom of the fairing. In 9 years they have never fallen out.
AFAIK all 916, 996, 998 and 748 (except the later 748e?) were this way and I don't know anyone who had any problems.

That's really good to hear. It is a royal pain to get the shortest screwdriver I have and clamp it in a pair of channel locks to get those phillips head screws out. I may just install them this evening.
