Newbie saying Hi

I'm new here to the Ducati forums. I have been riding for 2 years for just about every day, it's not just something i do for fun but commuting around the city as a daily thing. I currently ride a Honda CBR900RR, but am thinking of making the switch to a 999. The power difference isn't a huge jump for me as my CBR makes 125 bhp. I also enjoy wrenching on bikes and rebuilt my current bike twice... well now is the 2nd time and in progress. See a thief stole my bike a couple months back and totaled it pretty much. I do engine work, body work, and electrical work myself because it interests me and is a hobby. I also do metal fabrication as I'm a machinist and metal worker by trade.

Can you guys fill me in on the mechanical/engine issues related to the 999 series? I have read that some Ducatis have problems with valve rockers? Any other common problems or quirks with the 999?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum! Im pretty sure the xx9 series bikes don't suffer from flaking rockers. As I understand that was a problem in older bikes. There was a minor stalling issue with some of the xx9's, (covered under warranty), but this was resolved in 05 if i remember correctly. Good luck on your hunt, you will be happy no matter which ducati you choose!!
