1098 stock exhaust

ok, the 1098 sounds perfect. i would like however to change the decibel level. i have seen the youtube clips comparing the slip ons , full 70 termis, and ofcourse stock. my 996 with a remus half system is much louder. doesnt sound as good , but still much louder.

the problem is... after spending all my money on the new bike i dont have any for a 3000 dollar upgrade. does anybody have any suggestions to make this thing sound like a bat out of hell without hurting performance?

i forgot to mention, im looking for the absolute loudest thing possible, regardless of legality. if i have to pay for it in the end, thats what i gotta do.

disclaimer - im not one of those punks that races all over my own neighborhood, i realise that my neighbors would be hearing me everyday, so i take it easy around my hood, and let it out on the freeway.

I heard the 1098 fired up today at the dealer and dose sound sweet. Best stock exhaust Iv'e ever heard. Check with some of the vendors on this site they list alot of options other than Termis but you will still most likely have to modify the bike in other ways to get it to run good.

Straight pipes?

Alternatively you could drill the rivets out of the cans, remove all the packing and baffles, and re-rivet them - not sure exactly what's inside the 1098 cans, but I'm sure there's a lot of volume to be gained in there.

Neither option will make friends with your neighbors.

Either way, the bike will probably run poorly unless you retune it on a dyno - afterwards you will probably loose some midrange power, but gain some on top.

Go for performace not sound. What good is a loud bike if you don't gain performance. Well unless your just going to hang out at Starbucks all day. HA Look into Arrow they have a good system for a lot less $$$.

yes i am definitely looking for something that wont hurt performance, althought i most likely will never be able to push the limits of this bike.
