Section 8 geometry
So, FINALLY I've been able to get this thing out and toss it around. After Penske SBK internals on my TiN's and a double adj. Penske rear I've been able to start some dialing. I was reluctant to try the Section 8 settings as they sounded a bit extreme. Overall, the bike up to this point has been a little challenging in corners with quite a bit of understeer. I thought it to just be the way it is. Not unreasonable, but took some "effort" in fast sweepers.
Anyway, I wasn't REALLY happy so I thought I'd give the Section 8 settings a try. WOW... made the bike a completely different machine. Super precise in corners with overall great stability at speed. All the feeling of understeer is gone. Instant confidence... Suprisingly, the position is comfortable ride wise too. Feels better balanced. So I HIGHLY recommend this setup if you are not 100% happy with your steering. I set sag based on a great article in the Ducati website, 35 front 40 rear (street) it is easy to change for track conditions. Now, for some track days!!!! Wahoo!!
Two thumbs WAY up for Section 8!!!

Would you care to post these settings for us all - I'd sure appreciate trying them out.
Thanx

Are you saying you have not had it to the track since the new settings? Your getting understeer on the street?

When people gripe about the handling of the 916 series bikes I always point them towards these settings. Half of these people act like this is a big deal and that they shouldn't have to adjust anything on their precious Ducati. The other half try the settings and admit that they now understand what riding a Ducati is all about.

Sure... I live in Colorado, so we have LOT's of great roads to play on. There is a particular canyon that works well for "tests" of setup. It's got it all, bumps, dips, tights, sweepers, uphill, downhill etc... No, it's not on track, but it suffices, as most of the riding I do is street anyway. There may be further dialing once I get it to the track, but for everyday riding and canyon jaunts it's feeling REALLY good... MUCH better than stock. I like the fact that seemingly small changes can make such a difference to how the bike handles. Nothing worse that "setting" something up to find very little, to no, difference. This is NOT the case...
To the shock question... I had Rick from Cogent Dynamics do the work. Excellent company...
To the above, thanks for posting the link. I couldn't find it...
