This will be my first Ducati....the 1098. I live in Orange County, SoCal, but I am booked for my 1098 at Modesto Ducati. It'll likely be a 5-6 hr. drive. Why??
1) Another SoCal local priced 1098s OTD from 12 different dealers and Modesto beat the next lowest by $500.
2) My two closest dealers want $1000 and $800 more than Modesto
3) When I called Deanna @Modesto to put my name in the hat, I inquired about the deposit requirements. I expected to pay the $500 that most dealers want. Deanna said "Eh, you guys need that for Christmas....don't worry about it. I will hold your bike until you tell me you don't want it."
She was very cordial and informative. I'm going there cuz they are a "family" type dealer and I feel good about how they treat people. Other dealers were pissy or snotty from the start. Some wouldn't give me a quote unless I went in (e.g. Pro Italia, Los Angeles

) Another gave me one OTD price at the Bike Show, then when I went by their store and inquired a week later they gave me a different price by $200.
I know there are at least 2 others from SoCal who have deposits all the way at Modesto.....
