Make your own tool using some old clutch plates and a welder, or remove the other side crankcase and 'jam' the drive gears with a coin. ?

I think its worth it to buy the 68.00 tool from Desmo Times. Unless you are a wizard with a welder.

CA Cycleworks sells a tool for I think much less then 68 and you can use it more then just on your clutch.
