As Viper was saying. It's not as much the rake as it is the loss of trail. Also, when you add the longer swingarm, it will also influence the swingarm angle and alter your rice height, not to mention the spring will feel softer due to the longer swingarm. So you have several different factors to realize, not just the twitchy feeling. You will have issues in corners, low speed and high speed; though the longer wheelbase should help in straight line speed.
A lesser offset triple clamp(adjustable offset triples for best results) will reapply the lost trail, however I would recommend readjusting your chassis when all new parts have been added. Then adjust your suspension to your feel.

I don't know what "too twitchy for the street" is supposed to mean, but I've kept my street-only 748 with the steep rake for lots of years now and I think it's superior for the street (streets I ride anyways, which are mostly fairly slow tight turns where I almost never use full throttle) but a poor choice for the track (which are mostly faster turns where I do care about winding on full throttle). Try it and see, it's easy to change and easy to change back if you hate it.

As of now I have the same setup on my 996r. Longer swing arm and eccentric set to steep. Personally I love the way it handles. I assume your shock has been re valved for your longer swing arm and the spring changed? If not, do that right away.
The setup I have is
Long swing arm
Shock re valved and sprung for me
Front and rear sag set up for me
Front springs are stock, but correct for my weight
After doing all of that the bike is awesome to ride. It is twitchy at low speeds, but once above 20mph its planted. I will be switching to 27mm triples eventually. But for now its where it is and handles great.

Jeff it's what he told me "too twitchy for the street" I really don't understand the whole rake and trail thing but I hope to at the end of all this.
Ducky thanks for the response and that you are happy with the set up, for some reason I was all way's told it can't be done with out swapping out the triples. I will call him Tues and have it done.
Thanks

Dude, DO NOT set the eccentric to steep without going to 27mm or 28mm triples. Not a good idea.

I posted the same question about setting my 999S to the steeper steering angle, and got the obligatory cautionary warnings.. I dont think it is a "great" idea without re-dialing the correct/stable amount of trail via new triples.. however, i do not know how much/less of a impact this setting has on susp geometry on a 996, with or without the longer swing arm..
probably a worse idea if your bike does not have a steering damper.
that said, ive been riding my 999S with the 23.5 degree setting for over 1k miles.. feels much more responsive to rider input, a little more responsive to road conditions(ie. tramlining), but it still remains stable at high speeds from what i can "feel"..
no head shake yet, although i did get a slight taste of it bangind into 2nd gear pretty hard on a somewhat uneven road.. but i remember it doing that prior with the standard steering head angle setting. And i believe this is relatively "normal" for most sport bikes.
for riding the bike at 10/10th's, im sure there is some noticeable loss in stability/predictability of the front end during hard acceleration transitions..

Thanks for the warnings this is so up in the air now. Where should I be concerned most. At slow speed? High speed? Will the front want to tuck?
I appreciate all the feed back Thanks
