Pirelli Diablo Superbike Slick (180/55) on 2003 999

Ok - people of Ducati Boards...help me out....

I am looking to step up from the Pirelli Superbike Pro Slicks (Trackday tire) to the Diablo Superbike slicks for my 2003 999 (with cast swingarm). I am concerned about the rim width (5.5") and clearance for the 200 rear so I am considering mounting the 180/55 instead. Any thoughts about what you all think is best? I have considered mounting the box singarm from a 2004-2006 999 as I believe this may give me more clearance for the 200 if that is the best way to go...

Let the fun begin....

I do not see any practical reason to mount anything larger than a 190 on your bike. The 180 should do the job nicely with the stock rim. Keep in mind the larger the tire the more you will pinch it in to fit the rim. The only way you will use the 200 to the edge I am thinking is when you are crashing if you want to go to the larger tire for what ever reason get a wider rim. I would stick with the 180 Pirelli slick.
