cracked abs fairing

i just found a crack in a new to me set of abs fairings. i'm wondering if there's a cheap/easy/effective way to either repair the crack (ideally) or prevent further crack growth.

any constructive (no comments about the relative quality of abs vs composite, i wanted an inexpensive set and got one!) inputs wouid be appreciated!

Go to any big boxstore and in the plumbing section, buy ABS solvent cement. Make sure it's for ABS only, not PVC and not transition cement. Prep the crack from the back side by creating a very very small groove along the length of the crack. Use an artists or fine tipped paint brush to run a small amount of the ABS glue in to the groove that you made. Allow the backside of the fairing to rest horizontally so the glue can rest while it hardens without running or blobing. Use ventilation during the application the glue melts brain cells like salt melts ice. repair will be cured after 24hrs.
