1098 Gearing Fitment
Have a 1098 currently with a 520 setup and 15/38. I am trying to get to ratios that are in between 15/37 and 15/39. What I would like to run is 16/40 or 16/41, but have been told that this will have fitment issues such as the sprocket will contact the swingarm or the chain will rub the top of the runner where it goes through the swingarm. Not sure if the countershaft being a 16 will cause the chain to rub on the cases? I realize that I will have to change the chain most likely to add the links to get in the adjustment range, but mostly concerned that the above mentioned problems will occur. Has anyone tried this setup before? Thanks in advance. - Jim
