996RS wheels on 1098 ?
Hi,
I have a set of magnesium Dymag Corse wheels (17"). I would like to know if I can fit the rear wheel on a 1098 track bike. I know that the rear is for big diameter axle (corsa swingarm).
Thanks;

the answer is no.
the diameter of the 4 drive studs is bigger on a 1098 hub........conversly a 1098 rear wheel wont fit a 996/8 even with the big axle! (which isnt that bigger at the important bits!)

Damn it !
Thanks Andy.
What about the front wheel ? By changing the 5 hole disk by 6 hole disk, can I fit the front wheel ?

if it´s a true Corse front wheel it will be widetrack, so no plug and play.

Andy, are you shure!
I've used a 1098 wheel on a 996 bike.

Are you sure it wasn't an 848 wheel? because that will fit but the 1098 has a larger axle and 6 bolt sprocket carrier (5 bolt on 848 and 916 series).

It was a MV Agusta wheel that is identical to the 1098S Superlight.
The rear wheel fits with a custom made spacer, that i bought from ebay.

The MV Agusta rear wheel has a different offset than the 1098 wheel.

I owe you guys an apology especially Andy.
Like moto said the MV Agusta wheel as the same axle diameter but the pin spacing is diferent. Without knowing i bought the right Superlight whell for my bike
Some experiment in the garage today. The MV wheel fits like a charm.
