Ducati fairings - advice needed

Hi all

I've just bought an 01 748S, which has made me very happy! However the fairings are a little tired and showing their age a bit; so I'm looking to have them replaced.

I've found many sites from around the world that offer replacement fairings, the cheapest of which is from China (at $441, inc postage), they look very good.

This does seem very good value, but thought it best to see if I could gain any advice or opinions from anyone before I commit, and possibly make a mistake.

Thank you in advance

Regards Rob

The warranty and returns policy has offered some reassurance; however trying successfully set up a return and refund with a Chinese company maybe difficult (due to my ignorance of the Chinese language).

I have seen companies from different countries that seem to offer the same products, but not as cheaply.

Some folks think they are great for the money.

Been a couple of problems with them seperating from bike at high speeds over this side of the pond.

If its cheap your after id opt for someone like QB Carbon in the UK.Its wet lay but only about £150-£170 per panel. They quoted me just over £450 for both side fairings 998 style and bellypan in carbon.

You have the extra expense of paint with carbon stuff though.

Hope this helps.

Get them repainted, my painter is doing my 999 frame, street & track fairings for £300. Which is more or les the same price as the ting tong ones.

For what it's worth, I bought my chinese fairings on dhgate.com for their customer protection policy. When the cheap fairings arrived saying "desmopuattro" and with a small crack in the tail, I just filed a claim. The chinese company had no idea what was going on (bad translator I guess) but in the end I got refunded about half the price by dhgate and I've still got some around town fairings.
